Why Sally's Catch?

Some designs are inspired by a place. Others by a memory.

Sally's Catch is inspired by one of the most important people in my life—my Nana, Sally Lee.

Our story began the day I was born...on her birthday. From that moment on, we shared a bond that only grew stronger over the years.

Long before I came along, my Nana was busy raising seven children on Portland's Eastern Prom—the place she always considered home. A proud Irish Catholic mom, she somehow managed the beautiful chaos of a big family with endless love, laughter, and strength.

Every summer weekend, Nana and Papa would load all seven kids —along with their beloved St. Bernard, Brutus—onto their boat and head out on the water. Those boating adventures became some of their family's favorite stories, filled with salt air, sunshine, and memories that have been passed down through generations.

In June 2025, we lost my Nana just a few weeks after saying goodbye to my Papa. After more than 60 years of marriage, they simply couldn't bear to be apart for long. Less than two months later, they found each other again.

This design is my way of honoring the woman who taught me the importance of family, tradition, and finding joy in life's simple moments.

Every time I see this tote, I think of her—and of all the summers spent making memories on the water.

And between us? Nana absolutely loved being the center of attention and never met a stranger she didn't instantly love. She would be thrilled knowing there's a tote named after her, traveling to beaches, lakes, and boat days with families she'll never meet. So if you find yourself smiling and wondering who Sally was, then she's still doing exactly what she loved most—bringing people together, having fun and making sure she isn't forgotten.
